Float Mello Pro vs Float Mello: 50K and 20K Compared (2026)

Flum Float Mello Pro 50k Next to Flum Float Mello 20k the Pro Adds Eco and Turbo Modes Adjustable Airflow and a Dual Mesh Coil While the 20k is Auto draw with Fixed Airflow

Short answer: the Float Mello Pro 50K is not simply a bigger Flum Mello 20K. The Pro adds a button with Eco and Turbo modes and an adjustable airflow ring; the 20K has no button at all and a fixed draw. If you want to tune the device, that is the whole decision. If you just want to inhale and have it work, the 20K is the simpler object — and right now the cheaper one.

FLUM’s Mello line now spans two very different devices with confusingly similar names. Retailers list them as Flum Mello / Mello 20K and Float Mello Pro / Flum Float Mello Pro 50K / Flum UT Mello Pro. This guide sets them side by side on the things that actually differ.

The difference that decides it: controls

Almost every comparison of these two leads with puff count. That is the least interesting difference, because both will outlast a normal purchase cycle. The real split is how much control the device gives you.

  • Flum Mello 20K — fully auto-draw. There is no fire button and no mode button. A 5-click lock stops it firing in your pocket, and that is the extent of the controls. What you get out of the box is what it does.
  • Float Mello Pro 50K — one button. A single press wakes the display; a double-click switches between Eco Mode and Turbo Mode. There is also an adjustable airflow ring on the base. Eco runs the coil cooler and is where the 50,000-puff rating comes from; Turbo pushes more power for a warmer, denser hit and burns through liquid faster.

We wrote up every control on the Pro separately in Float Mello Pro settings: what the button actually does.

What each one actually costs to run

Puff counts only mean something once you divide them into the price. Checked at Zovapo on September 4, 2026:

DevicePriceRated puffsPer 1,000 puffs
Float Mello Pro 50K$16.9950,000$0.34
Flum Mello 20K (sale)$14.9920,000$0.75
Flum Mello 20K (list)$19.9920,000$1.00

The Pro is roughly half the running cost of the 20K even against the sale price, and a third of it against list. That is the strongest argument for the bigger device, and it is worth saying plainly: on cost per puff the 20K does not win, and it is not trying to.

What the 20K wins on is the lower amount of money at risk. If you are trying a flavor you have never had, $14.99 for 20,000 puffs is a cheaper mistake than $16.99 for 50,000 puffs of something you end up disliking. Sale prices move, so treat the table as a snapshot rather than a permanent state.

Flavors: less overlap than the shared name suggests

Both devices carry a Mello lineup, but they are not the same lineup. Roughly half the names appear on only one of the two.

On both — Tobacco, Clear, Vienna Bliss, Miami Mint, Cool Mint, Peach Icy, Sour Apple Icy, Watermelon Peach Lime and the blue raspberry ice profile (spelled Blue Razz Icy on the 20K and Blue Razz Ice on the Pro).

Only on the 20K — VOL. 9, VOL. 1 Green Apple Melon, VOL. 5 Spring Water Mint, Spearmint Watermelon, Frozen Watermelon, Sunshine Cherry, Summer Delux and Strawberry Blast.

Only on the Pro — Icy Mint, Menthol, Strawberry Guava, Strawberry Splash, Strawmelon, Watermelon Icy, Sour Mango Pineapple, White Gummy and Vol. 1.

This is the one place where a specific flavor can settle the decision for you. If Spearmint Watermelon or Sunshine Cherry is the reason you buy Mello, the Pro does not carry it. If you want White Gummy or a straight Menthol, the 20K does not.

One thing worth noting for anyone comparing ice-forward lines: both Mello devices keep a genuinely large share of non-ice flavors, including a tobacco profile and an unflavored-style Clear. That is unusual at this capacity, where most 50K flagships go cold-first.

Which one to buy

Buy the Float Mello Pro 50K if you already know which flavor family you like, you want the lowest cost per puff, or you want to be able to change how the device hits. The Eco/Turbo switch and the airflow ring are real differences in use, not spec-sheet decoration.

Buy the Flum Mello 20K if you want a smaller device in a pocket, you want the lowest amount of money on the table while you try a flavor, or you specifically want one of the eight flavors the Pro does not carry. The absence of controls is a feature if you never wanted to think about modes.

Neither is an upgrade path for the other. They are the same flavor engineering in two different form factors, and the Pro’s advantage narrows sharply if you spend your time in Turbo Mode — the 50,000 figure is an Eco number.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the Float Mello and the Float Mello Pro?

The Pro is the 50,000-puff model with a button that switches between Eco and Turbo modes and an adjustable airflow ring. The standard Flum Mello is the 20,000-puff model with no buttons at all and a fixed draw. Both are 5% nicotine and USB-C rechargeable.

Is the Mello Pro just a bigger Mello?

No. The capacity is the obvious difference, but the Pro also adds dual-mode output, adjustable airflow and a display that reports liquid and battery separately. The 20K is deliberately a simpler device.

Which is cheaper to run?

The Mello Pro, by a wide margin. At the prices checked on September 4, 2026 it works out to about $0.34 per 1,000 puffs against $0.75 for the 20K on sale, or $1.00 at list.

Do the two share the same flavors?

Only partly. Nine names appear on both. Eight are exclusive to the 20K and nine to the Pro, so check the specific flavor you want before choosing the device.

Does the Mello 20K have Eco and Turbo modes?

No. Mode switching is a Mello Pro feature. The 20K has a single fixed output and no mode button.

Is the Flum UT Mello Pro a different device?

It refers to the same 50,000-puff Mello Pro. The naming has shifted with FLUM’s branding rather than the hardware, so Float Mello Pro 50K, Flum Float Mello Pro 50K and Flum UT Mello Pro all describe the same product.

Where to find them

Both are stocked at Zovapo — the Float Mello Pro 50K in all 18 flavors and the Flum Mello 20K currently on sale. VapeOwls carries the Mello Pro and the Mello 20K as well.
